Ask yourself

This is week 2 in the ask yourself questions.

This weeks question is....

You discover your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix up at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the mistake?

My answer....

No, I would not want to correct the mistake. Especially having an almost one year old I could not imagine having to send him away to another family even if I knew he wasn't my blood. What about you?

If you didn't notice

If you didn't happen to get the wordless Wednesday clue and almost miss the clue like my husband did, I am pregnant. Yep that's right you heard me. We are having another little baby. I've been told why would I announce it so early when I'm only 4weeks. Well I will tell you why :) I am the kind of person who wears my heart on my sleeve and I know that whatever happens with this new baby it is in Gods hands. You never know at any age what may or may not happen to your child. I have had friends that have lost babies at an early stage in their pregnancy and even some at the time of birth. I understand why some people would want to wait and everyone has different ways of doing things. I just have chosen to tell people because I am beyond excited. This little thing growing inside me is our child and will always be our child. Why would I not want to share this good news with all the people I love?

My first appointment will be June 24t so I will update more info then.

Thank you to everyone who has called or send messages saying congratulations.

Bike Cam

I've been trying to get Aven to say Nana in front of my mom for awhile and he always says it when she's gone. He of course decides to say it over and over while I was taking him on his bike ride (on his new bike seat). Don't worry I had my bike cam handy and got it on video :)

Wordless Wednesday

Me on the other hand was not so wordless.... :)

Ask yourself

I thought of a new thing I am going to do on Fridays. It's going to be called "Ask Yourself" I will be asking random questions about all different subjects and you are welcomed to answer them in the comment section or even make up your own questions on your own blog. I really love to hear different types of answers from people. If you think you are going to be an anonymous commenter and be sarcastic...think again. I know who you are and can track you now. If you are a friend and want to be sarcastic go for it. :) I know alot of people that read this blog never comment but now is the time to sign up so you can start leaving comments.

Keep in mind I did not make up these questions.

Here is this weeks question. Have fun and tell the truth.

Question:

For $20,000 would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone, and that there would be no long-term effect on your career.

My Answer:

I think this question is funny cause my husband pretty much did this when he was in the military for alot less pay than $20,000. haha

I would absolutely do this. I just hope that if I was ever given this dare it wouldn't be during the summer months. ha I'm sure my husband would force me to sleep in the guest room or maybe even go move with my parents till the 3 months was up.

Your turn.....

Got my hair did

The other day I went to take Aven to get his haircut but they were to busy and closed in 30 min so I didn't end up getting it done. My friend Courtney offered to cut it for me. What a nice friend. Of course we took the opportunity to take some black mail pictures of Aven. I made her brush his hair forward into sort of a marine corp/Jim Carey look. You could tell he knew what we were up to and wasn't having any of it. :) Thanks Courtney for the new do! I'll post a picture later of what it looks really looks like. It turned out cute. ha

Mom, you are not taking this picture of me!

Air Show

This weekend was the Chino airshow. It was really cool because we have such a good view from our house of all the planes. I felt like I was live at pearl harbor. I told Johnny, "Imagine if these planes were actually shooting at us?" It was scary enough just having them fly over. I could have sworn a plane was going to fly into our house. I took Aven outside to watch and he loved it. I got to do some yard work and work on my tan and had free entertainment.

Here is some video I got of them flying.

Speaking of my tan...I apparently didn't realize how white I really am and now my back looks like a carton of neapolitan ice cream.

Redneck Dog Sledding

Johnny and I are always looking for ways to wear out our dogs. We usually take them to the park and throw the ball around until they can't run anymore. Last night was to dark so I decided I would have them pull me and Aven in his wagon. ha I'm sure the other people out having nice family walks couldn't believe their eyes. They probably thought I was to lazy to walk so I just had the dogs pull me. This is my version of redneck dog sledding in California.

Ryland

We went over my friend Sommer's house for dinner and to take a few pictures of baby Ryland. I even got a few of the proud parents. Here is just a few of my favorites.

Look at those pretty blue eyes!

I think he was trying to talk to me in this one.

Aven was so excited to see his friend he tried to get in the pictures with him. When I look at this picture I can't believe how big my baby is. Makes me really consider having another one....well maybe. ha

Fire in the hole!

You would have thought after my last effort to give the neighbors a clue that they need to do something about their backyard they might have done something. (if you missed it click here) Nope...they haven't done a thing and seem to not care. The association has made attempts to get a hold of them and still nothing. I really think I need to join the board cause I would handle things way differently..."what do you mean we can't scale their fence and ignite it all?"

I have decided to do things the "right" way and call the city so they can come out and I will get to hopefully see some HOT fireman get things taken care of. This will be my last attempt to do things the way I'm supposed to and be a nice friendly neighbor. If this doesn't work I will step up my game and do it MY way!

Senior Shoot...Sneak Peek

I had the pleasure of doing Senior pictures for a girl named Jen whom I met from the last shoot I did. She is such a beautiful girl. She is captain of the cheer squad and just a cute little thing. I kept telling her and her friend how fast time flies by and to just enjoy every minute. It started to make me feel super old when I realized that this was me 10 years ago. They probably felt like telling the old Mom to shut up and just take the pictures :) I took almost 300 pictures and I'm having the hardest time picking my favorites because she looks cute in everyone. I need to go to sleep so I will post more when I get them.

How to make a baby

I saw this video today on another blog and thought it was pretty funny. Now when Aven asks me one day how babies are made I can have him watch this video.

P.S. Bridget you need to keep your hands in your pockets from now on. haha

Mothers Day

I was so happy to celebrate my first Mothers Day. We had a really good day. We went to my Mom's house to BBQ carne asada and layed by the pool enjoying a nice cold margarita. There is nothing better than having nothing to do all day. It was my ideal Mothers Day.

Mom and I

Please Pray

I was so torn this morning when I logged on to see that sweet Kayleigh went home to be with Jesus. I have been following her story for months. She was only a week older than Aven and has spent her entire short life in the hospital. Please pray for her family that they will have the strength to get through these ruff days ahead.

Her Dad wrote this letter to her on his blog...

"Kayleigh, we know our life on earth is just a spec of time compared to the life we have in eternity with you and our Lord. We look forward to the day that we can pick you up and swing you around, dancing, singing and worshipping together. I am sure that your journey to Heaven was greeted with many open arms.

We are so very proud of you for everything you have done in such a short period of time. You've showed us what strength truly is, what determination truly is and what love truly is. There will not be a day that passes that we won't look at your photos and remember how awesome you felt in our arms. Your soft skin that brushes our lips and your tiny little hands that grip our fingers for comfort will always be missed.

We will never get to tuck you in your own bed at night and we will never get to pick you up when you fall. We will never get to hold your hand while you cross the street and I will never get to walk you down the aisle, but please know that your Mommy and I are so blessed that God gifted us with your love, even if it was only for a very short period of time. You will always be in our hearts and we can't wait until we meet again. We love you endlessly and we already miss you so very much! Goodbye Sweetheart...for now."

Love,

Mommy and Daddy

Letters to my child

One of the best gifts I think I got when Aven was born was from my friend Tara. It's called Letters to my child. It is a really cute box with cute paper and envelopes inside. For every birthday your child has you are supposed to write them a letter on how much you love them and what they were like that year and special memories that were made, things they said. Even your favorite pictures. 21 days before their 21st birthday, you start mailing the letters, one everyday.

When I got the box I thought it would be so long before I would even need to think of what I was going to write. It's been collecting dust on the shelf in Aven's room for 10 months. This morning when I went to put him down for his nap I saw it sitting there and realized that his 1st bday is right around the corner. :( I still can't believe he is almost a year old! Where in the world has the time gone? I know when he is 21 years old he might laugh at how stupid his Mom and Dad are for doing this. I just think how neat it would be to have something like this for even me to look back and remember everything. I thought I would share the idea for all the new Mom's out there. You can be creative and do your own. Even if your child is older, why not start it now? I am going to have Johnny also join in and write a letter. I think one day when Aven is a parent he might appreciate it :)

Our backyard

I WISH!! We went to Johnny's bosses house for a little dinner party Friday night and they wanted me to take some pictures of their backyard park. They have such a beautiful backyard all the time but this time of year it really comes to life. They have their own little park to themselves (and their 4 dogs) You can see why the Easter egg hunt was so fun look at all those places they can hide eggs. :)
