Just do it...It will be cute!

I never really understood my sister when she was pregnant or post partum. She would always make crazy, spontaneous decisions. I would always tell her to wait it out or say Bridget, "just listen to me, you don't want to do this." Well I guess I have a little of her in me. The only problem is we are both post partum. I probably shouldn't have asked her opinion on a some what big decision for me. You see when I was in about 5th grade my mom decided to take us all to get hair cuts. We were all into ice skating at the time and being the little sister I looked up to her and listened to alot of what she told me. Well she thought it would be a good idea to tell me I should cut my hair like Dorothy Hamill. Of course I was a little hesitant at first but thought yeah, maybe she's right. I still remember to this day the lady cutting my hair had crossed eyes.

Anyway ever since that tramatic experience I swore to myself that I would never EVER cut my hair again. I remember crying everyday cause I thought I looked like a boy or a q-tip (long skinny legs with a big poof ball on my head)

So on Wednesday I was at her house getting my hair done by my friend Courtney. Lately I've been feeling so ugly and was ready for a change. I decided I should probably cut my hair since I've pretty much had the same style since High school, minus the horrible bangs. I asked Bridget if she thinks I should do it and she's like "Yeah, I think so!" I got a flashback to that old dirty salon in Ontario that still haunts me to this day. I really don't know why I was asking her this.

At least I can look back now and just laugh about it. I would post a picture of that horrible hair cut but I'm pretty sure I ripped up every picture my mom had of that horrible stage in my life so no future boyfriends/husband would have to see that.

Thanks to Courtney I do not look like Dorothy Hamill. I do look like a Mom now I think. All I need are the Mom jeans.

Before

After

WOO HOO

For some reason I am in a really good mood today. Maybe because I am a single woman till my husband comes home on tuesday?? JK I love my husband but sometimes it's nice to have your space if you know what I mean. So I woke up early. Ever since the time change I can't seem to sleep in. I got up and cleaned the house and did laundry, all before I had to start working at 8. I was dusting the blinds and for once took the time to actually realize how pretty it was outside.

I am anxiously awaiting for it to be 5 PM. :)

If you want something bad enough, no one can stop you!

My friend sent me this video and I thought it was super funny. I really hope my sisters son Landen doesn't watch this video cause this is something I could totally see him doing. I love how the girl sits on all the animals looking at her mom like "you can't get me" so funny.

4 month check up

So lets say that my son is going to be big boned like his mommy. (at least that's what I'm calling it these days) Aven now weighs 16 lbs. That's two bags of 8lb. potatoes!!! He is doing great and growing like a weed. It makes me sad when I think back to when he was born and it seems like it was only a few weeks ago.

My sister Brenda came with me to the appointment yesterday which is always nice to have someone along to make things a little easier. It's also nice to have someone there to cry with you when you see your baby get their shots :(

Brenda always comments to me that people probably think we are a couple when we go places together because she's usually just getting off work and she's dressed in shabby clothes since she grooms dogs for a living. I always reassure her that she looks cute and to shut up. Well yesterday while in the office the doctor came in and starting asking "us" questions. She asked us, "what time do you guys put him to bed?" I responded, "Well "I" usually put him down around 8:30 or 9:00." I asked her about his gas problem and she said, "Well what are you "guys" feeding him?" I glanced over at Brenda and she's giving me the look of death like YOU BETTER SAY SOMETHING!! So I started to tell her how much my husband helps me out with the baby and how everything is going great. So the doctor left the room and we just started laughing. Brenda said, "I knew I should have worn my Yes on 8 shirt today then she would have known we weren't lovers"

I hope this doesn't mean my sister wont come with me anymore I really need her help even if we are lovers.

Yuck!

So I attempted to have Aven try rice cereal for the first time because he usually seems like he's hungry and never sleeps more than 4-5 hours at night. Let's just say he doesn't like food like his mama.

Another Baby???

So last night I woke up at 1:30 in the morning in so much pain. It seriously felt like the pain I had during child birth. My husband said, "maybe you are having another baby?" Then I got to thinking oh great am I like that one lady that was 6 and 3 months pregnant? Was I about to give birth to Aven's sister Avena? Well it sure felt like it! Anyway I don't know what the pain was if it was gas or I pulled something. It's sad that I thought a stay at the hospital might not be so bad, that I might actually get some sleep.

So speaking of lack of sleep.....I tried to take my sisters advice yesterday. She called me and told me that Finley (her daughter born a month after Aven) slept 10 hours the other night. She said try putting him in his crib cause sometimes the pac and play will wake them up cause it shakes when they kick or move. So I fed him as much as I could tucked him in and was hoping for a miracle. Well that didn't work he woke up even earlier then he normally does. I've come to the conclusion that I will never catch up on sleep.
