This might be a sign?

This arrived today in the mail. I didn't realize that I wasn't supposed to open it. If something comes to my door I tear into it. I hate surprises and I wouldn't have thought anything would be coming this soon for mother's day. At first I was a little scared thinking what the heck is my husband doing ordering PINK tools??? I know he does have his feminine side (just take a look back a few post about the eyebrow incident) but I didn't really think he would get this for himself...OK, maybe I did. I called him up and asked him if he ordered himself a new tool kit. He said, "no honey, that is for you. Happy Mother's Day! I really do think it's cute since I do like to do stuff around the house and after all I am building a new dollhouse for my nieces, might as well do it in style. I'm not quite sure but I think he is trying to drop some hints that maybe I should be doing more around the house??? I can't wait to see when my pink weed wacker will be showing up so I can trim the neighbors weeds again :)

She's getting married!

I never thought that the day would come when my little sister would call me and tell me she's getting married. Even though I know she is not a child, to me she is still the baby and my little "shorty". I am so happy for her and wish her and Scott all the best.


We all got to go shopping this weekend and pick out the bridesmaids veils we're going to be wearing. jk Brenda said she was going to pay me back for picking out tight fitting dresses

Let It Be Foundation Run/Walk

This Saturday we participated in a walk with two of our other friends and our babies. The foundation is called the Let It Be foundation.

At the young age of fourteen Karla seemed to have it all. She was beautiful, smart, funny and outgoing. Then, one day she went to the doctor for what she thought was a sinus infection and found out she had an inoperable brain tumor. Sadly, she passed away a little over a year later.

Her mother started the foundation to help others in her daughter's situation and wrote a book to tell the story of her daughter's unwavering faith through the ordeal, the impact she had on those she touched and how Karla continues to inspire her and so many others to pass on her spirit of hope, compassion and her simple message to "let it be."

We even got to meet her mother whom I admire for turning something that was such a tragedy for her and her family and has turned it into something so wonderful to honor her daughter and keep her memory alive.

Here is Sommer and her son Ryland who was probably the youngest participant. (He even got his own medal) Got to give her credit for carrying him that whole time. My husband told me that we were wimps for taking a swig of water towards the finish line...MEN!

Aven finished! Now him and Johnny's can start their own collection of medals :) He even clapped for himself.

I should probably go to Vegas

Yesterday was the Kentucky Derby. Johnny and I usually bet on all the big horse races. I wasn't going to even bet this year but said what the heck. It's not fun unless you have someone to cheer for. I always bet on the underdogs, and the long shots cause you can win more right? Also I usually bet on my favorite number which happens to be 8. Number 8 happened to be 50-1 odds If any of you had the chance to watch it you may have seen the #8 did in fact win. So on my $10 bet I made $516 bucks!!! I was so happy I don't ever win anything. He came from so far behind that I didn't even realize till after he won that it was the horse I bet on. If you didn't get a chance to watch it below is a replay. I think I screamed for about 20 min after :)Before the race started we made some nachos with jalapenos and Johnny dared me to eat a jalapeno for $100 bucks. I thought about it for a min and said what the heck! Mama needs some new clothes so down the hatch it went. My mouth was on fire for a good 30 min and I'm pretty sure I was seeing things. Not a bad day off though making $600 bucks. :)

9 and 10 months

Yesterday my sister and I had our monthly get together to take pictures of the babies for their 9 and 10 month bday. This past month they both learned how to crawl. They are both busy little things wanting to get into everything. Between them eating leaves and rocks and God only knows what else we managed to get a few shots. Aven decided he wanted to practice his clapping the whole time. Besides the picture above which totally shows both of their personalities.

New Venture

Well I have finally decided to start my own little side business. I love taking pictures, always have. I've been doing alot of different pictures lately so my husband has been bugging me to actually try making a little extra money doing it. He is someone who will just go for it and jump in feet first. Me on the other hand I take a little longer and make sure this is something I should be doing or I lack the confidence and take a little longer to make a decision. I took his advice this week and I picked a name and bought the domain name and should have the actual site up soon. I'm still new to all this but I am excited to get started and learn more.
