Safety 1st?

Since Aven has been getting into EVERYTHING lately we decided a few weekends ago it was time to safety proof the house. We put up a gate on the stairs and got all the electrical outlet plugs. Yesterday he was being abnormally quiet so I peaked around the corner and he was playing a little game.

He thinks they are like puzzle pieces now. They are made by the company safety 1st, not really sure I believe that company name. I would recommend NOT buying this brand of plugs unless you want your kids to have frizzy perms....hey whatever keeps them busy right? jk

Hawk Siting

So this morning I was working quietly in my office when I heard a knock on my back sliding glass door. I went down to do some investigation and noticed a big wet smudge on the door. I look over and see a big huge what I think to be a Cooper Hawk on the fence. This is the 2ND time I've seen this thing in my backyard and I think it's after my little dog Coda. I think it saw the dog through the window and tried to come after it. I'm not really sure what to do. I'm scared to let the dog out to go pee. That thing might take off with it. I am thinking about tying a brick to my tiny dog so he doesn't get swooped up one day. ha

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. It's sad that the most exciting stuff going on around here is a bird. ha I guess no news is good news. :)

So you think you can dance?

Well Aven does. This morning I was looking up the hotel were gonna be staying at and the music started blarring. I look over and Aven starts rocking out to it. So I had to grab my camera. Everytime I hit refresh on the computer he'd start his dance moves all over again. Don't mind the 1,000 books on the floor. That is his daily routine to take every single one off the shelf and then proceed to shove them under the door.

Here is the first take

1st Pregnancy vs. 2nd, 3rd and so on....

A few weeks ago I saw this video on one of my favorite blogs to read dooce.com. As I watched it I just laughed cause alot of the women said alot of things I have been thinking. This pregnancy is so much different than my first one. With my first one I was so paranoid about everything and was so careful I didn't drink any caffeine and was constantly looking up things in my pregnancy books. This time around I feel so much more at ease. Not that I don't still have the normal worries that come along with being pregnant. I think I have just come to realize that things are out of my control and whatever happens is in Gods hands. Not that I didn't realize that with the first one, but with your first one you really have nothing to compare it to so everything makes you paranoid.

I think things for women are so different now. When my mom had all of us she had no idea what she was having until she gave birth or even if we would be born healthy. It's like they almost give you so much to think and worry about you forget to enjoy your pregnancy as much as you should. With all the technology we have we sometimes worry about things that aren't even there. With Aven they told me that they thought I had cervical incompetence and had me worried to death for a week that I might lose my baby or go on bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy. Turns out that the lady just happened to not measure properly.

Although I am still very conscious about what I put into my body and things I do I am not gonna lie and say that I am perfect. If my baby is craving some tempura dipped shrimp then I will give in and feed my baby :) I also have been guilty for making a few stops at Subway for my tuna sandwich cravings that I've been having. ha I just hope that since I have a baby to chase after this pregnancy that I wont gain 40lbs this time around.

So any of you Mom's that have been pregnant more than one time. What are some of the things that changed for you if at all with your second and 3rd and even 5th pregnancy (if you are my sister)?

Aven's New Pool

Today was so hot and Aven was getting super cranky so I decided to take my break and let him play in his new pool. He loved it! What's better than being naked in your own pool with a otter pop? I can't think of anything.

p.s. This is the internet so I had to black out his goods.

1st Ultrasound

Yesterday I had my first ultrasound. I was so excited and nervous the whole drive down there and prayed that everything would be normal and I would be able to see our little baby. After drinking 32 oz. of water and having to pee really bad. I was informed that this facility didn't take my medical group. WHAT?!?!?! You do not want to make a already emotional pregnant woman even more emotional. My doctors office sent me to the wrong place so I ended up paying cash for it. I was so mad that I almost had to reschedule somewhere else and get another day off of work.

Anyway they finally got me in for the ultrasound and as soon as I could see something on the screen I thought for sure that I saw two sacs. I thought oh great. Everyone has been saying they thought I was having twins and my sister Bridget was praying that was the case. So when I thought I saw two sacs on the screen my heart dropped. Thank God that I don't know anything about what the my inside are supposed to look like and it was just my extremely FULL bladder that I thought might be another baby. PHEW.

I was so relieved to see only ONE healthy little baby dancing around with a nice strong heartbeat. Suddenly the $234.00 I had to pay to see this amazing miracle wasn't so bad. I know you can't really see much in the picture but thought I'd put it up anyway.

3 more weeks and we will find out what it is. After this ultrasound I have a good feeling it is a boy. To all the 6 people who voted that I am having one of each all I have to say is.. Niener Niener!

Sweet little Addison

Today I had the pleasure of taking pictures for a friend of mine from high schools baby. She is such a cute little girl. All the cute clothes and bows got me really hoping this baby is a girl. ha She was so sweet and so well behaved. Hope you enjoy some of the pics....

Aven's Birthday at the Beach

For Aven's actual Birthday we took him down the the beach. We were going to do Disneyland but I decided since we spent so much on his party and it was so hot, and really I needed a tan worse than I needed to deal with a bunch of crazy people being pregnant and hormonal. We decided to go to the beach instead :)

We woke up early and took him to breakfast and then headed down to the beach. He had so much fun playing in the sand. I really think I need to move to the beach cause he was so well behaved the whole time. ha Weheaded home and he got a nap then we took him to get frozen yogurt. It turned out to be a really nice day. Even though he wont remember this day I know I will for years to come. Can't believe he's 1 already. :(

Trying to be cool like Daddy.

Aven's 1st Bday Party

This past Saturday we threw Aven his 1st Birthday party. I did it in Cowboy theme. We had so much fun and it's taken me this long to finally recover from it. As you can tell I am a little late posting pictures. Anyway here are some pictures from his party. Thanks to everyone who made it and for all the lovely gifts. We have one spoiled child!

Everyone was in their cowboy gear.

Aven's little cowgirl friend Kyndall :)

Aven's Cousin Cowboy Austin
We weren't really sure who this guy was but he showed up at the party. haha jk This is Seth...leave it up to him to wear something like this.

Aven and my Mom in the bounce house. You can tell he really enjoyed that.

No we did not give Landen anything to help him be a good boy he was good the whole time. He must have been tired from all the jumping. ha

Another shot of the Rhinestone Cowboy...nice boots!
Garrett & Ryan (Aven's friends) playing on the sand/water table.
What a good boy feeding his pregnant Mom cake. YUMMMY
