Hawk Siting

So this morning I was working quietly in my office when I heard a knock on my back sliding glass door. I went down to do some investigation and noticed a big wet smudge on the door. I look over and see a big huge what I think to be a Cooper Hawk on the fence. This is the 2ND time I've seen this thing in my backyard and I think it's after my little dog Coda. I think it saw the dog through the window and tried to come after it. I'm not really sure what to do. I'm scared to let the dog out to go pee. That thing might take off with it. I am thinking about tying a brick to my tiny dog so he doesn't get swooped up one day. ha

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. It's sad that the most exciting stuff going on around here is a bird. ha I guess no news is good news. :)

You don't know me, but I have stopped by your blog a few times through Krystyn's blog. Congrats on baby number 2!! My dad was having an issue with ducks in his pool so he got an owl (a fake one of course), and put it on the edge of the pool, and wala, no more ducks. Just a thought if this guy doesn't go away on his own, or anytime soon. Good Luck! I think I would be a litle freaked out too. Those things can be crazy!

wow, scary! ya, i've heard of hawks picking up little dogs in cali. i used to be paranoid (i have a 3lb teacup yorkie), but after a while i figured it may have been an old wives tale, but now i don't think so! i just can't imagine they would actually want to carry off such a huge animal (compared to a squirrel or something), but i guess you never know. i'd definitely be careful. maybe there's a shampoo or something you can use that would be repelling to the bird, if in fact he ever got his mouth around your pup....
